Job Description:
Role Overview:
- Contribute to the development of secure software architectures across platforms by working on cutting-edge projects in camera systems, computer vision systems, ML/AI model development, robotic control, and motion planning.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage deliverables and contribute to advanced camera sensor system design.
- Drive fault detection, decision explanation, and continuous improvements for deployed robotic systems.
- Optical responsibilities: field of view, dynamic range, resolution, video encoding, auto-exposure, image stabilization, auto white balance, and auto-focus.
- Mechanical responsibilities: mounting and environmental fitness.
- Electrical/interface responsibilities: power, bandwidth, and encoding.
- Software responsibilities: camera drivers, compatibility with AWS Data Stream Processing, video decoding, device health monitoring, and remote maintenance.
- Camera care and feeding site requirements, installation, operational metrics, troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning.
- Write and present recommendations, experiment outcomes to Director-level leadership.
Work Scope:
- Own end-to-end processes of camera testing, including decision explanation, fault detection, monitoring, A/B testing, simulation, and hardware integration.
- Work spans from early-stage prototypes to scalable, wide-deployment systems.
- Optimize both hardware and software stacks for next-generation robotics.
- Implement solutions, testing, and monitoring services in robotic fleets to ensure performance excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in EE or CS, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering, or related experience.
- 5 years of work experience with camera system development, camera drivers, validation, and deployment.
- Experience in imaging optics, camera modules, lens design, and illumination design.
- Experience with image pipeline in still and video cameras, including selection and specification of video encoding/decoding algorithms.
- Clear and concise documentation and communication skills.
Additional Experience:
- Camera pipelines and tuning.
- Image processing techniques and computational photography algorithms.
- Experimental design for data analysis and addressing technical challenges.
- Developing automation, scripts, and tools to improve workflows.
- Debugging multi-threaded, real-time software systems.
