Performs store level cash handling, service desk operations, and human resources and personnel functions. Responsible for the completion of the daily reconciliation, accounting, and cash balancing functions. Provides accurate records of store sales and related transactions while supporting store sales, operating plan, and service levels. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for completing the daily reconciliation, accounting, and cash balancing functions (including counting the safe, maintaining and reconciling self‑checkout registers, and preparing the tills and deposits). Monitor cashier accountability and research and report problems and shortages to the Front‑End Manager and Store Director, including out of warranty checks, WIC violations, cash variances, improper refunds and voids, and till balance irregularities. Partner with Division Loss Prevention and front‑end management team to resolve cash and other shrink issues. Assist the Store Director with billing and invoices. Maintain sales book and report daily and/or weekly sales information to the Division Office. Perform miscellaneous administrative duties such as ordering money orders, bus passes, lottery, gift cards, postage, and change (if applicable). These duties include the use of various computer programs and e‑mail system. Report attendance problems to the Store Director and appropriate department manager in a timely manner, including attendance or schedule violations. Review internal and external applications, conduct screening interviews and coordinate department manager interviews. Administer the job‑posting system and process. Manage pre‑employment drug testing and tax credit process. Complete the new hire process, coordinate training, and conduct orientation. Coordinate and maintain all aspects of the hiring process including computer assisted application and hiring process. Attend outside recruitment activities, such as job fairs. Maintain all in‑store recruiting materials, applications, policy sign‑off forms, etc. Retain records related to the interview and hiring process. Assist in ordering and assigning uniforms, nametags, and miscellaneous store supplies. Handle outgoing/incoming mail, e‑mail, and maintain miscellaneous office files. Update break room information/communication boards as requested. Serve as liaison between the Human Resources and Labor Departments. Handle payroll and benefits administration issues and work with Store Director and Employment Relations Manager in handling personnel issues. Review associate time records for compliance with Company policies. Submit and process payroll on a timely basis. Maintain all Time and Attendance reports, Time and Attendance Correction Forms, schedules, and personnel records in compliance with Company guidelines. Coordinate, input, and track leave paperwork, including disability, military, General Leave, Worker’s Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act and other leaves of absence. Process appropriate paperwork for return from leave situations, processing reinstatements, termination forms, etc., in cooperation with Human Resources. Maintain Associate HR Records securely and keep medical files separate from associate personnel files. Ensure that current personnel files are complete and up‑to‑date and that they contain applications, policy statements, etc., by conducting in‑store file audits. Submit appropriate personnel status and address changes and termination paperwork. Ensure compliance with records retention policy requirements. Ensure that minor associates provide appropriate work certificates prior to beginning work, if required, and ensure that they are scheduled and working in compliance with state laws. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and the confidentiality required under federal and state law. May coordinate all safety‑related activities, including monthly safety meetings. May coordinate service award programs. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately. Support front end operations. Ensure proper cleanliness and neat appearance of the office area. Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity, in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Serve as overflow cashier as needed. Manage the Service Desk operation (if applicable). Enforce dress and grooming standards for all Front‑End employees. Present a positive image to the public. Maintain confidentiality concerning employees and store sales information. Physical and General Requirements Must sit for long periods of time, move, bend, stoop, kneel, twist and turn frequently. Ability to reach, lift and maneuver items up to approximately 20 lbs. Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements. Prioritize workload. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of cash balancing, cash handling, company policies, benefits, scheduling tools, payroll processing procedures and hiring, training and new associate orientation. Require knowledge of basic arithmetic and basic computer skills. Operate calculator, telephone, computer software and electronic equipment to order products, perform cash balance, plan and perform personnel functions. Possess good written and verbal communication skills and leadership skills, demonstrating an understanding of Company Core Values as reflected in personal and professional conduct. Be friendly, courteous, and maintain professional demeanor in dealing with customers, co‑workers and vendors. Concentrate, handle interruptions well, work independently, and take initiative. Good attendance is required. Comply with grooming and dress code standards. Mental alertness is necessary for safe and accurate completion of work activities. Utilize cleaning supplies. May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Scheduled hours will vary.
