Role Summary/Purpose:

This position is responsible for developing Oracle APEX solutions within the scope of established goals and objectives and is considered part of the IT function. This person will work with multiple business and IT partners while designing and developing APEX solutions. This person must be able to present and demonstrate ideas and solutions to the business and IT teams.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate across with business and IT team and leaders to explore, design, develop and implement solutions to meet business needs
  • Present and share the solutions to leadership as required
  • Collaborate, share work load and closely interact across the Apex development team on daily basis
  • Develop and deploy solutions independently and as part of the team
  • Candidate will work on client projects to develop, build, and deploy APEX applications to streamline business processes and/or meet regulatory requirements.
  • This position is part of a web development team that supports the internal intranet applications across various functions and works on building process improvements with online applications/forms and through automation

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering discipline or MCA with 5+ years of IT experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on Oracle Development Suite (SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Trigger, Function, Procedure / Package Definition)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills is a must
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management and external groups
  • Strong business acumen
  • Relational Design skills (ERD, Process Modeling)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS3 and RESTful webservices
  • Experience with Oracle Query/Performance Tuning (Explain Plan, Table / Index design and development)
  • Familiar with basic SDLC processes
  • Ability to work independently and within team environments
  • For Internal candidates: Minimum 18 months in Synchrony and 12 months in current role.
  • For Internal candidates: Not on active formal or above corrective

Desired Characteristics:
  • 2+ years of experience on Oracle Apex Development and Deployment
  • SQL*Forms and SQL*Reports development experience
  • Autosys batch job creation and maintenance
  • Hands-on with Unix Shell scripting
  • Java Development
  • Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD / Prototyping) Environments
  • Ability to work on all phases of complex work
  • Previous Consumer Finance experience, or other credit card processing experience
  • Working experience with Agile Methodology
  • Experience with object oriented programming languages (Java, Python, C++ or similar), XML and version control.
  • Experience deploying applications across Apache / Tomcat servers

Grade/Level: 10

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
