Job Description
Westlake Securities is seeking an experienced Associate located in Austin, San Antonio, or Surrounding Areas. As the Associate, you will work closely with Westlake’s CEO, Managing Directors, and Vice Presidents to support live transaction execution and business development efforts across M&A and capital markets engagements. The ideal candidate possesses strong transactional experience and technical capabilities, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is motivated to contribute meaningfully across multiple projects. This role offers exposure to a variety of deal types and industries and is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a hands-on, entrepreneurial team environment.
As an Associate you will:
· Prepare and analyze financial information, including historical spreads and three-statement forecasts
· Build detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, comparable companies/transactions)
· Draft confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other client materials
· Support transaction execution including due diligence, Q&A, data room management, and buyer/investor coordination
· Conduct company, industry, and market research
· Prepare marketing materials, research reports, and pitch presentations
· Maintain client relationships and support business development outreach
To be successful in the role you must possess:
· 3+ years of investment banking / M&A or related experience
· Strong analytical skills including extensive financial modeling experience (three statement forecasting, LBO, DCF, public and M&A comparables)
· Hands-on experience with financial and statistical databases, including Pitchbook
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field with strong academic performance
· Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with PitchBook or similar databases preferred
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
· Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently
· Solid foundation in corporate finance and accounting principles
· Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (creating spreadsheets, building charts/graphs, using advanced formulas and utilizing pivot tables)
· FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses preferred (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
