Position Details The Department of Political Science and International Studies at The University of Tampa invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position. We are open to considering candidates from the fields of American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Public Policy. An ability to communicate research and teaching interests in a way that can contribute to our public policy course offerings is strongly preferred.

The University of Tampa is a private university that values diversity and has a strong liberal arts tradition. The department is collegial with a handbook that embraces democratic norms. Successful applicants will be well-rounded with a commitment to teaching, research, and service. The position has a 3/3 teaching load with classes ranging in size from 15 to 32 students. Professors in the department should be comfortable contributing to everything from introductory sections to senior capstones. Successful applicants are also expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda, participate in department and institutional service activities, and contribute to curriculum development and program initiatives.
Qualifications We prefer candidates who have already obtained their Ph.D., though we will consider candidates very near to completion of the Ph.D. The successful applicant's contract will begin in Fall 2025.
