Job Description
The Woodstock Community Choir is a growing organization and we are expanding our artistic team. Our choir started 10 years ago. We are now a 60 member community choir. We preform two large concerts per year at the Woodstock Opera House and smaller events throughout the community. Rehearsals during large concert seasons, Fall and Spring, are held Tuesday evenings locally. Join us as the Assistant Artistic Director.
Provides artistic leadership in a supportive role to the AD.
Assists the AD in all artistic aspects in the choice of repertoire, themes.
Assists the AD in selecting all artistic personnel (soloists/musicians/accompanist)
Attends and participates in all contracted rehearsals and concerts and is prepared to step in for the AD at any time as deemed necessary.
Assistant director can sing as part of the choir when not in a director’s role.
Run sectional rehearsals as deemed necessary by the AD.
Assists AD in preparing scores for chorus, musicians, and soloists
Assists AD in preparing, recording, and uploading rehearsal tracks to our website for concert selections.
Assists AD in working with the marketing chair to produce concert programs.
Prepares 1-2 selections to conduct at concerts. [VJ1]
Runs warm-ups for rehearsals and assists with choir logistics at concerts.
