Job Description
This role is crucial in facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing (D/HH) students, their peers, educators, and others within the school environment. The ideal candidate will be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and possess a strong understanding of the educational needs of students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Interpret extracurricular activities in accordance with school policies and supervisor instructions.
• Deliver interpretation services for all mainstream classes attended by D/HH students.
• Redirect any questions from regular education staff regarding D/HH students to the appropriate case manager.
• Serve as a liaison between the D/HH Program and mainstream programs, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
• Prior experience in a school setting.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
