Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our financial team at our CPA firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software, a strong understanding of financial principles, and experience in QuickBooks and tax preparation. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our clients' financial data and supporting their overall financial health.
Duties
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
- Conduct account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial statements.
- Perform financial audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for client management review.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Quicken, and QuickBooks for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
- Support governmental accounting practices as required by specific projects or contracts.
- Collaborate with team members to manage client accounts and related transactions.
- Provide assistance in the analysis of financial data to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and file tax documents, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, account reconciliation, and tax preparation.
- Familiarity with journal entries and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage, Quicken, and QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting principles is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
